Evan Gregory Moore, M.D, 82, died December 26 in Long Beach, CA. A graduate of Meharry Medical College, he was board certified in both general and pediatric/adolescent psychiatry, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. In addition to his private practice, he held a number of positions including Head, Dept of Psychiatry of Institute for Juvenile Research, and Assoc. Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Meharry. His numerous consultancies included the IL Dept of Children and Family Services; Cook County Dept of Public Aid; Chicago Board of Health; American Red Cross; IL Children’s Home and Aid Society; and Children’s Memorial, St. Bernard and Provident Hospitals. Evan is survived by his daughter Colleen M. Jones; and her husband James Jones; son Evan Moore Jr.; grandson James Jones Jr.; granddaughter Colleen V. Jones, Julie Ward, Richard Ward; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday 9 a.m., service 10 a.m., at Griffin Funeral Home, 3232 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Chicago. Interment at Oak Woods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Parkinson Foundation or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
