Who’s in it? Eric Bana (right), Geoffrey Rush (far right), Daniel Craig

What it’s about: A fictional look at the aftermath of the murder of 11 Israelis during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. An Israeli team of assassins, headed by Avner (Bana), is dispatched to kill the Palestinians who they believe planned the murders. The agents must deal with collateral damage–like the couple they blind when the bomb intended for a Palestinian levels an entire hotel floor.

Worth watching? (star)(star)(star) 1/2

“It’s more a movie of ideas than of characters, but it has the ideal leading man in Bana. … Over time, you can see the ravages of isolation and violence etch their way into his features. … ‘Munich’ is so powerful–and dangerous–because it insists on seeing past good and evil, them and us. … Nobody–Israeli, Palestinian or those of us in the audience–gets off easy in ‘Munich.’ Therein lies its greatness.”
