Two men displayed a handgun and tried to rob the Charter One Bank in the 11100 block of South Western Avenue in Beverly on Thursday morning, the third time the bank has been hit by robbers in two months. Thursday’s crime was an attempted robbery because the men fled without any money, an FBI spokeswoman said. Authorities said no suspects were in custody.
