Temperatures could reach 50 this weekend, so there won’t be snow, but that won’t stop competitors from taking part in the 101st annual Norge ski-jumping tournament in Fox River Grove. Because there’s no snow, the jump and landing areas are covered with slippery plastic, said spokesman Charlie Sedivec. Several potential Olympic ski-jump contenders will be among the 50-member field, he said.
