Cyclone: In meteorology, a low pressure system. When viewed from above, wind circulation is counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere. In popular usage, “cyclone” is a term variously applied to tornadoes, waterspouts, dust storms, hurricanes and even to any strong wind.
