In the ’50s and ’60s, I was active in PTA. Am I the only one who remembers that when a lottery was proposed for the State of Illinois, the PTA was asked for its support because it was believed that never again would taxpayers be asked to fund the schools; the lottery would provide that money. Now we are being asked to approve a plan to launch a Keno game that will fund the schools. Deja vu all over again?
