I thought Sally Marshall’s piece was a bit pedestrian for the Tribune’s opinion page. If a debate over princesses warrants space in the Tribune, however, why not a debate on the expected role of all little boys to grow up to be breadwinners? Why aren’t they encouraged to be, or at least offered the option of being, stay-at-home dads? A debate on the role of the sexes isn’t much of a debate if the role of only one sex is debated.
