As a Sox fan, Ozzie Guillen has brought my family and me a lot of joy throughout his career.
I’m very proud of his new citizenship.
I hope he also is aware and proud of the awareness he brings Chicagoans about his home country of Venezuela.
If it weren’t for him, I don’t believe I would follow the country’s current events, much less know the name of its president.
I hope Ozzie knows his love of his home country is so evident it’s infectious, and that he’s proud of that.
