I would like to see a study of the incomes and benefits of those who work for government. State, county and city officials are keen on passing hefty pay increases for themselves, local boards provide administrators nearing retirement with scandalous 30 percent to 50 percent pay increases to enable the collection of larger pensions and many of the tax-increase referendums for schools result in sizable pay increases for teachers. Meanwhile the taxes paid by the worker in the private sector pay for those salaries and benefits.
