U.S., German economic issues
The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest presents its 1st Annual Economic Forum on the current economic developments in the international and German American business world.
The luncheon begins with registration at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Rosewood Restaurant & Banquets, 9421 W. Higgins Rd. in Rosemont.
Two panels will present micro and macro economic views on the internationalization of the marketplace.
The first panel, titled “Outlook for the U.S. and German Economies in 2006,” begins at 12:05 p.m.
Panelists include Thomas Klier, senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Holger Schmieding, managing director and co-head of European Economics at Bank of America, London.
The second panel on “Competing Globally: German Firms Meeting the Challenge” features panelists Theo Freye, president, Claas North America Holdings Inc. in Omaha; Jochen Schmitz, chief financial officer for Siemens Medical Solutions USA in Hoffman Estates; and Thomas Seifert, president of Optima Machinery Corp. in Green Bay, Wis.
Tickets for the event are $65 for members and $80 for non-members. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
