A story in the Tribune on academic freedom issues at the University of Notre Dame may have left the impression that the topic of homosexuality could not be discussed during a film series on gay and lesbian themes (“Notre Dame reins in gay, women’s events; University president says Catholic values may conflict with academic freedom,” Page 1, Jan. 25). In truth, the organizers simply chose to focus their discussion not on the morality of homosexuality but on the films themselves.
