I think the Chicago Public Schools system is focusing on the wrong thing. How about focusing on the teachers who come to schools each day? How about “well pay” instead of “sick pay”?
When I was a student we would get recognized for perfect attendance. Let’s treat the teachers the same way. Pay the teachers a bonus each month for perfect teacher attendance. If you take one sick day that month, no bonus.
I would rather see accent on the positive.
