Sen. Barack Obama delivered the Democratic Hispanic Radio Address today. While the Illinois Democrat only speaks limited Spanish, he recorded the message in the language after a tedious taping process.

The topic: ethics reform”Necesitamos un compromiso serio con las reformas,” Obama said. “Es hora de limpiar Washington de una vez por todas.”

[“We need a serious commitment to reform This is a time to clean up Washington once and for all.]

The Senate Democratic communications office, eager to announce that Obama was delivering the weekly radio address, translated the message in an email to reporters.

Radio addresses are, indeed, a throwback to another era of communication. Few stations even broadcast the weekly presidential address that is released every Saturday morning, let alone the response by Democrats.

Perhaps it should have a new name. The weekly MP3 address, however, might not have the same ring to it.
