– The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is re-examining a 2004 recall of Audi sedans for wiring problems after receiving six reports of fires starting in the driver’s side dashboard. In 2004, Audi recalled 173,000 1998-2004 A6, S6 and Allroad Quattro vehicles. NHTSA has received the reports of fires in the A6 sedans after the recall repairs were made.

– NHTSA has opened an investigation into engine stalling in about 700,000 1999-2001 Ford Excursion, F-250 and F-350 pickups and E-Series vans that left the trucks with diminished steering and braking.

– NHTSA is reviewing a recall of about 38,000 2004 Chrysler Pacifica SUVs because of engine stalling. It has received complaints of similar problems in 2005 and 2006 models.
