Despite the title, there’s not much romance evident on the latest CD from this Scottish duo. If it’s Hallmark sentiments you’re after, you may want to steer clear of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton. The brooding “Stink” is about a lost weekend of sex; “Come Round and Love Me” examines another bland but joyless tryst. Edgy and brazen, Arab Strap covers a lot of moods–none of them giddy.
