Ooooooo, Ace the Face has a girlfriend.
Long before he invented his “American Idol” stare, finalist Ace Young was making eyes at actress Essence Atkins. They met through a mutual friend, Essence tells tmz.com in an interview, and Ace even landed a role on Essence’s show “Half & Half” (coinkydink?) in October, playing a baseball star who prefers his singing career. UPN plans to re-air the episode April 3.
Essence was just plain flushed when talking about her beau, and RedEye couldn’t resist putting her comments through the translator:
Essence: “Is Ace a good kisser? No comment. Yeah, no comment.”
Translator: “Giggle, giggle, tee hee!”
Essence: “He is one of the most consistently sweet people I’ve ever met.”
Translator: “Gurl, he is fine!”
Essence: “I probably voted, I don’t know, maybe 100 times or so. Ace, you’re fantastic. (Claps) Yay! Go Ace! Team Ace!”
Translator: “I saw a pattern in ‘Modern Bride’ the other day, and I just about died …”
