This is regarding “Fighting rape” (Voice of the people, March 11), by letter writers Nathan and Mary Crawford, and their remarks that a woman who is raped should have the child because it “provides undeniable proof of the crime.” They say that “an abortion provides an incestuous relative or rapist with a get-out-of-jail free card; it effectively thwarts prosecution of these heinous crimes and allows the perpetrator to continue his abuse.” These people haven’t heard of forensic evidence like DNA. By their rationale if a woman is raped or a relative sexually assaults a teenager, she should have to give birth to the child. Why would you even print such vile garbage?
