The Board of Education has appointed Eric Witherspoon superintendent effective July 1. Witherspoon has been superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools since 1998.
The Boosters of Evanston Township High School will present the Saturday Night Fever benefit from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Unitarian Church in Evanston, 1330 Ridge Ave. The event will feature dining, entertainment and both a silent and an auction.
