Maxwell Lubershane, age 86, died on April 7, 2006 in St, Louis, MO. Survived by his baby brother, Melvin of Laguna Beach, CA; three children, Andrea L. Gardner of Evanston, IL, Simon Lubershane of Chicago and Eric Lubershane of Lexington, MA; and five devoted grandchildren, Andrew, Charlie, Anthony, Peter and Anna; and nephew, Barry Mosses of Taipei, Taiwan. The fourth child of Charles and Anna Lubershane, formerly of Kie, was educated in Chicago Public Schools and was a contender in the 1936 Golden Gloves. Served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII from 1941-1945 and saw action in North Africa, Sardinia, Corsica and Italy. Participated in 4 amphibious invasions and was among the first GI’s to liberate Rome in 1944. Graduated from the University of Illinois in 1949 and DePaul Law School in 1951. A distinguished law practice collimated in arguing a landmark case before the Illinois State Supreme Court. Max was passionetly devoted to two life long past times, arguing loudly and eating large quanities of overripe fruit.
