Kindergarten Roundup, an orientation for parents of children who will be in kindergarten in the fall, will be held on the following days and schools: Wednesday, 12:45 p.m., parents of English-speaking students, Ridge Circle; 9:30 a.m., Spring Trail; 7 p.m., Sycamore Trails; and 6 p.m., Timber Trails: Thursday, 9 a.m., Centennial and Heritage; 6 p.m., Hillcrest; 8:30 a.m., Lords Park; 8:45 a.m., parents of bilingual students only, Ontarioville; 12:45 p.m., parents of bilingual students only, Ridge Circle; April 19, 5:30 p.m., Sheridan; and April 20, 6:30 p.m., Channing. Students must be age 5 on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible to register. A certified birth certificate and proof of residency are required. MARENGO

The Marengo Woman’s Club is seeking applications for a $500 Re-Entry Scholarship for adult women through May 5. The applicant must be 21, reside in School District 154 and be registered for a minimum of six undergraduate credits or five graduate credits for the fall semester. Applications are available in the financial aid offices of McHenry County College and Northern Illinois University.

McHENRY COUNTY

The McHenry County Conservation District is seeking applicants for a $500 Smith Engineering Conservation Scholarship, which will be awarded to a college or university undergraduate studying in such fields as parks and recreation, forestry, environmental education and environmental design. Required is a 500-word essay explaining the ways students want to contribute to conservation. McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE

A workshop on matching yourself with short-term training opportunities will be held from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. April 19 and from 10 to 11:50 a.m. May 4 in Room A262L of McHenry County College, 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake.
