Gatorade VP shares career tips
Tom Fox, senior vice president of Gatorade Sports Marketing, will share his insights on career development with young professionals at an event sponsored by the Young Professionals of Chicago.
The event takes place from 7 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Mid Day Club at 21 S. Clark St. on the 56th floor.
Fox began his career at Quaker Oats as an assistant marketing manager for Cap’N Crunch, then moved through the ranks of sports marketing at Gatorade. He left Gatorade for executive positions with the NBA and Nike (in Asia) before returning to Gatorade in 1999.
Since April 1999, he’s been responsible for developing Gatorade’s sports marketing strategies, team relationships and athlete negotiations. He also manages media partnerships with ABC/ESPN sports and is acquainted with a number of athletes including Mark Prior, Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan, Mia Hamm and Yao Ming.
