It’s one thing to stumble upon a great little shop in some undiscovered neighborhood.
But a whole string of them? In this new occasional feature, we’ll point you to areas in the city and suburbs with the best clusters of stores featuring unique and beautiful buys for your home. We start our tour on a two-block strip of North Broadway in Chicago’s East Lakeview neighborhood. Hours for these stores are: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Get those walking shoes — and that pocketbook — ready.
1. Guava
3327 N. Broadway

We love the global mix of home decor, art and accessories that store owner Amy Robinson has collected from her travels abroad. The store, which also features work from local artists, is a great place to find unique gifts — everything from blue bamboo — and clementine-scented candles to hand-woven tapestries from Laos and Cambodia to an array of artwork, vases and throw pillows.
(See photos for a few of our favorite things.)
A word of warning: The Zenlike displays and wallet-friendly prices will make you want to buy one of everything.
