Janet Jackson has come out of hiding, now that she’s fit and flab-u-less again. The singer lost 60 pounds in four months and shows off her trademark abs in heart-fluttering photos for US Weekly’s cover, on newsstands Friday.
Janet gained the weight for a movie role, she said, but ultimately had to pass on the film because of her new album “20 Years Old,” which drops in September.
“They [the producers] wanted to see me in a different light, as a heavier woman,” said the 40-year-old singer, who weighed about 180 pounds at her heaviest. “I had to turn around and take it off, which was a task,” she told “Entertainment Tonight.” “I started my regimen in January. … I’ve still got work to do.”
