Taylor Hicks won, the confetti dropped, and another season of “American Idol” came to a close. But it’s one we won’t soon forget–with Mandisa’s controversial ouster, Ryan Seacrest’s reported spat with Paula Abdul and Chris Daughtry’s shocking upset. Clearly this needs to be made into a movie. Rapper Sigel shot, wounded
Beanie Sigel was wounded by gunfire during an attempted robbery early Thursday in the Philadelphia area. The holdup was attempted around 7 a.m. by five males traveling in two cars, but there was some confusion about where the shooting took place, police said.
Sigel’s attorney, Fortunato Perri Jr., said the shooting appeared to be “a random act of violence.”
The rapper spent a few hours at an area hospital before leaving around 11:40 a.m. Thursday in a wheelchair, wearing a hospital gown, blue jeans and a blanket over his head. He also had a bloodstained towel on his right shoulder.
After getting into a black Mercedes, Sigel lowered the car window and said, “I got shot. I’m cool.” Moments later, he pulled his hospital gown aside and showed a bandage on his left shoulder to reporters. His left arm was in a sling, and his left hand was bloody, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on its Web site.
Settled
Lawyers on both sides of the CBS Corp. and Howard Stern breach-of-contract lawsuit said Wednesday they have settled. CBS sued Stern in February, claiming that he breached his contract with the network when he moved to Sirius Satellite Radio. The lawsuit, which also named Sirius, said Stern improperly used CBS radio’s air time to promote his new satellite show, which began in January.
Taking names?
The governor of the Namibian province where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are staying slammed a report that he was to name their child. “No. No. That’s absolutely not true,” Samuel Nuuyoma told The Associated Press of the report, which was published in Britain’s Daily Mirror. “I never said such a thing. Never in history.”
Couple watch
Are Lindsay Lohan and Stavros Niarchos more than just friends. The actress and the Greek shipping heir (and ex-boyfriend of Paris Hilton) have been spotted together at several nightclubs and at a concert in New York, people.com reports. But Lohan also has been linked to British singer Jamie Burke in recent weeks.
