You can add Ice Cube to the list of rappers sounding off against Oprah Winfrey.
“I’ve been involved in three projects pitched to her, but I’ve never been asked to participate,” the actor-rapper told FHM magazine, according to people.com. Ice Cube joins Ludacris and 50 Cent, who have already launched complaints against Oprah.
One of those projects was the 2002 movie “Barbershop.” Ice Cube’s fellow cast members Eve and Cedric the Entertainer were asked to appear on Oprah’s show, but he didn’t get the invite. “Maybe she’s got a problem with hip-hop,” he said.
His frustration towards Oprah also questioned her choice in guests: “She’s had damn rapists, child molesters and lying authors on her show. And if I’m not a rags-to-riches story for her, who is?”
Earlier this month Oprah addressed the rumors of disliking hip-hop on a New York radio show. “I listen to some hip-hop,” she said. “You know, I’ve been accused of not liking hip-hop, and that’s just not true. I got a little 50 on my iPod. I really do. Love in ‘Da Club.’ “
