The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has announced its 2006-2007 performance season, a huge array of music, dance, theater and multidisciplinary performance. Bookings include the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange (Sept. 29 to Oct. 1), performing “Ferocious Beauty: Genome,” a new multimedia work inspired by the potential of genomics, the relationship between gene structure and biological function, to alter the human condition; The Builders Association & dbox (Oct. 12-14), performing “SUPER VISION,” a multimedia theater production exploring digital age anxieties, revealing the hidden realms of technological surveillance and the ways identities are shaped and reshaped as “data bodies”; the RESFEST Digital Film Festival (Oct. 19-22); New Music Chicago performing “Sonic Impact” (Oct. 28-29); the virtual-reality game “Can You See Me Now?” by the British Group Blast Theory (Nov. 2-5); Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s “Global Rhythms” (Nov. 17); and solo cellist Maya Beiser performing “Almost Human” (Dec. 2-3). Court Theatre will present its “Uncle Vanya” in the MCA space, Jan. 11-Feb. 11, 2007. Spring MCA bookings include the Melbourne-based dance troupe Chunky Move (March 1-3, 2007), Reggie Wilson/Fist & Heel Performance Group performing “The Tale: Npin Nckutchie and the Tail of the Golden Dek” (March 15-18, 2007); Contempo and the Dave Douglas Quintet (April 7, 2007) and the Martha Graham Dance Company (April 19-21, 2007). The Hip-Hop Theater Festival also returns in the spring. . . .
