Forest Park police and federal officials are investigating the death of a U.S. Postal Service employee who may have been run over by a semitrailer-truck at a bulk mail distribution center.
Authorities were called to the U.S. Postal Service Bulk Mail Center, 7500 Roosevelt Rd., about 10:10 p.m. Thursday after a co-worker found the employee unresponsive in the center’s loading dock area, Forest Park Deputy Police Chief Tom Aftanas said.
Antoine Thomas, 43, of Burnham was pronounced dead shortly later at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Preliminary investigation indicated a semitrailer-truck hit Thomas in the dock area, Aftanas said.
