– Zac Hanson of pop group Hanson will marry Kate Tucker this weekend, the group’s publicist said. Katie McNeil said Hanson, 20, and Tucker, 22, his girlfriend of five years, will marry Saturday in Atlanta. Zac and his brothers Isaac, 25, and Taylor, 23, formed Hanson in Tulsa. They are best known for their 1997 hit single, “MMMBop,” which helped ignite the boy band craze of the late ’90s. The trio is now working on a follow-up to its 2004 album, “Underneath.”

– ABC news anchor Bob Woodruff, who was injured while reporting on the war in Iraq earlier this year, won’t attend an upcoming alumni awards ceremony in his home state of Michigan. Woodruff, 44, who is still recuperating at home in New York, will send his brother, Dave Woodruff, to accept a 2006 Cranbrook Schools Distinguished Alumni Award on June 10. Bob Woodruff received head injuries and broken bones in a roadside bombing Jan. 29 in Iraq.

– Former MTV talk-show host Tom Green said an accident near his house in Costa Rica has made him more respectful of the ocean. Green said he was fishing alone two months ago when a violent wave slammed him into a rock. He said he hit his head, broke two ribs and stumbled back to his house before driving to a hospital about two hours away by dirt roads. “I was covered in blood, hardly alive,” he told The Associated Press. A day earlier, the waves pulled him “14 football fields” out into the ocean while surfing, he said. “I said, `I’m never gonna be that risky with that ocean again.”‘
