Joseph B. Semrad, 92, of Tequesta, FL, for 32 years, formerly of Chicago, passed away on April 4, 2006, at his home. A member of Turtle Creek Country Club, he was an avid golfer and had the unique distinction of attaining two holes in one. He also enjoyed fishing for bass in Lake Okeechobee and for larger game fish in the ocean. He was born on August 30, 1913, and raised in Chicago and attended Harrison Tech Institute. He was founder and president of Unique Printers and Lithl, one of the finest printing and lithl plants in the Chicago area. After retiring in 1969, he became interested in the Ludington Hills Golf Club in 1972. His son had just purchased the course and was having lots of problems so he agreed to come in for two or three years to help get it going. Well after many years of hard work, the golf course was doing fine and was very successful, so he decided to really retire and leave. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joan of 71 years; daughter, Nancy (Dewey) Beaver; son, Allen (Valerie) Semrad; six grandchildren, David, Kathy, Debra, Lynnea, Michelle and Jeff; five great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline and brother Edward of Chicago. Services to be held at St. Francis Xavier, 124 N. Spring Ave., LaGrange, IL 60525, 10 a.m., on June 12. Those who wish may make a gift in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 7234 W.
