Apparently the cost of Fuel was too high for Chris Daughtry.
The “American Idol” contestant who looked like a sure thing to win the Fox competition this year (but didn’t even make the final three) said Saturday he has turned down an offer to be lead singer for the band Fuel.
“I’m going to be doing my own thing,” Daughtry, the rocker from North Carolina, told The Charlotte Observer.
He grabbed Fuel’s attention with his spot-on version of “Hemorrhage” on the show, and the band made its pitch right after he was voted off “Idol.” But Daughtry said he’ll likely announce his next career move in a few months, probably after he finishes with the “Idol” summer concert tour.
Here’s hoping he won’t end up on the ex-“Idol” party circuit with Constantine Maroulis.
