Herbert Albert Swanson, an 80year-old Grayslake resident, passed away Saturday morning, June 3, 2006 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born in Chicago to Herbert and Myrtle Swanson, nee Bostrom, on January 2, 1926. Herbert served for the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Rockbridge. He was also a 60 year member of the I.B.E.W. Local #134. Surviving are his wife, Rita C. Swanson; his children Martin (Kim) Swanson of Loveland, CO, Gary Swanson of Spring Grove, Lorraine Swanson of Des Plaines, and Kurt (Kathryn) Swanson of Prospect Heights; and his grandchildren Kristie, Eric, and Paige Swanson. His aforementioned parents precede him in death. Friends of the family may visit on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, also at Strang Funeral Chapel.
