Growing up in a single parent home during the depression, she followed her dream and became a professional dancer, touring with the USO and entertaining U.S. troops throughout World War II. Together they raised three children Arnie, Sid and Debbie, helped found Skokie Central Tranditional Jewish Congregation where she proudly served as first president of the Sisterhood. She also found the time to give as both Cub Scout den mother and Brownie leader (different children) as well as to work full time for Lerner Newspapers selling classified advertising. Later in life, she was the courageous, never faltering care giver to her husband Harry during his 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Nonetheless, if you ask Lee, her greatest achievement is her grandchildren, Miriam, Peter, and Eric (children of Arnie), Danielle and Joey (children of Sid), Arielle and Lauren (children of Debbie).
