Steve “Coach” Pappas, 54, of Libertyville, passed away June 8, 2006. Steve was the Head Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Gordon Tech High School and Deerfield High School. Cherished husband of Cathie, nee Childs. He was the awesome son-in-law to George Childs. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield, IL, with a 7 p.m. gathering for stories, remembrances and prayers.
