Thomas Buckner Tuell, 65, of Chicago, died at his home on May 22, 2006. Mr. Tuell was born in Washington, DC on Sept. 19, 1940, son of the late Ethel Tuell and brother of the late Lawrence Tuell, both of Washington, DC. Mr. Tuell is survived by many cousins, including Betty Durrer of King George, VA and Amanda Fessler of Phoenix, AZ; five godchildren, Jennifer Herren Gatesman, Elizabeth Herren, Paula Tate, Charles Webster and Rowe Webster; and many, many dear friends. A graduate of Anacostia High School in Washington, DC, Mr. Tuell received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA. Mr. Tuell served in the U.S. Navy, where he reached the rank of Lieutenant JG; and worked for Southern Railways and the Santa Fe Railroad prior to joining Merrill Lynch, where he worked for many years, retiring as an Executive Vice President in 1988. Mr. Tuell will be buried at sea in a private Naval ceremony. Contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
