TUE 6/13

Wrap it up

Haven’t made plans for Father’s Day? You’ve still got time to make him proud. Give Dad the royal treatment at a Dining Like a King dinner honoring the Field’s “Tutankhamun” exhibit. Tut-tillating cocktails ($11) and Egyptian fare hold court at the table (think prime rib, cucumber salad and hummus). Available for parties of eight or more–so go ahead, invite mummy’s great aunt Olga. 5 p.m. $48 per person. Reservations required. Lawry’s The Prime Rib, 100 E. Ontario St. 312-787-5000, ext. 23.

Park it here

Admit it: A peek at backsides is a real treat. View the impressive rears of at least 12 U-Hauls at the second annual Guerrilla Furniture and Art Truck Show, an outdoor happening featuring indie furniture designers and artisans. They park; you peek inside and browse their wares. Participants include Robin Richman, Jason Wade and others. With free Bud beer, and live music by Frier Tuck and DJ Ben Fasman. 6 p.m. Free. Outside Morlen Sinoway Atelier, 1052 W. Fulton Market. 312-432-0100.

Match made in heaven

Like a few sides with your sports? There won’t be a “kiss cam” a la Cellular Field, but you can still plant a smooch on your neighbor at this feisty bash. SushiSamba Rio’s World Cup Celebration features live screenings on several TVs and a special global menu during Brazil’s matches versus Croatia (Tuesday) and Australia (Sunday), plus entertainment by the Brazilian Rhythm Dance Troupe (Tuesday and June 22). Sounds like a “Goaaaaaaaaaaaal” to us. Menu prices vary. 504 N. Wells St. 312-595-2300.

Break it ’til you make it

You’ve got a store of witty retorts for “Idol” judge Simon; you’re ready to trot out the “dawg” for Randy; and Paula loves your dance moves–in your “reality” dreams, that is. In real life, here’s something to sing about: Bar1’s Big Break, a 10-week vocal competition for Chicago’s best crooner, kicks off with auditions this week. A high note: The grand-prize winner collects $10,000 cash. No cover; registration required for contestants: bar1events.com. 7 p.m. Duffy’s Tavern and Grill, 420Q W. Diversey Pkwy. 773-868-8073.

Be right Outback

Australian cuisine isn’t limited to ‘roo burgers, barbies and bloomin’ onions–though you wouldn’t mind a few Foster’s this summer. Flex those drinking muscles at Windy City Wine Club’s Annual Taste of Aussie, featuring 250 wines from Down Under, and appetizers from six area restaurants. 6:30 p.m. $50-$60. Cadillac Club at Soldier Field, 1600 S. Lake Shore Drive. 773-687-0784. Tickets: windycitywineclub.com.

WED 6/14

Chip off the new block

Seems you can’t flick a file these days, ladies, without nailing a martinis-and-manis night out. But don’t wait until the digits are in disarray to spend an evening with the g-friends. Tsumani offers a ladies’ soiree that sticks to the bubbly spirit of spontaneity. Free champagne and sushi are on tap at this sexy, Gold Coast spot. 5:30 p.m. Free. 1160 N. Dearborn St. 312-642-9911.
