James A. Hartman Sr., 72, of Romeoville, formerly of Brookfield, at rest June 11, 2006, born Feb. 23, 1934 in Chicago, beloved husband of 46 years to Kathleen, nee Folta; loving father of James Jr. (Sue), Steven, Kenneth (Candy) Hartman and Mary Kay (James) Zalabak; cherished grandfather of Tommy, Danny, Matthew, Katie, Alex, Timmy and Nicholas; dear brother of Larry (Donna) Hartman and the late Margaret Bowman; uncle of many. Proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Employed by Gregg Engineering for many years until forming his own company in 1983, AGM Incline Inc., Brookfield. Past President of the Lyons Library Board and a member of the Austin-Healey Car Club. He enjoyed fishing, birdwatching, traveling and spending time at his Florida home. For those who prefer, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 3 to 8 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, corner of Routes 30 and 59, Plainfield. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 505 Kingston Dr., Romeoville. Interment Queen of Heaven, Hillside.
