Madonna knows how to put on a hot show, and her shows in Chicago probably won’t be exceptions.
Recent reports indicate that fans of the Material Girl are hot and bothered over her request that the air-conditioning be turned down in venues during her “Confessions” tour, which stops for four shows at the United Center beginning Wednesday.
Temperatures reportedly reached 87 degrees in the Glendale Arena near Phoenix last week. Things were uncomfortable at L.A.’s Staples Center as well. The reason for Madonna’s request was unclear, though some say AC dehydrates the vocal cords.
For now, United Center officials have received no such demands from Madonna’s camp as they prepare for this week’s shows. Temps are expected to rise to the upper 80s by the weekend.
“Isn’t it about 110 degrees in Phoenix right now?” asked Terry Savarise, senior vice president of operations at the United Center. “The way the weather has been here, we might actually have to run the heat.”
