Brad Bradford’s letter to the editor (“A winning team,” Voice of the people, June 9), suggesting that Hillary Clinton run as the vice presidential candidate with Barack Obama as the presidential candidate, is a gem.

Yes Obama is inexperienced and lacks household-word name recognition in much of the country.

But he is brilliant, charismatic, exciting and does not seem to have any dirty laundry, political or otherwise, that has not been made public.

Even the most vocal Hillary supporters will admit that for some reason, a too-high number of citizens seem to despise her for no really good reason. As has been pointed out for several years, she is a lightning rod of sorts.

Surely she realizes that her failing to win the nomination is a real possibility.

Surely she could persuade Obama to run.

Surely she would give top priority to this nation’s return to former sensibility and sensitivity.

Surely she would realize that in order to do this, her party must win.

Surely. Or maybe not.

As for me, I’m counting on her intelligence and political savvy.
