Rosetta “Dee” Kerrigan, 83, Shoreland Hills, Michigan City, IN, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. in her home. There will be no visitation hours, a Memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church, with the Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Private burial will take place in New York. Arrangements entrusted to the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN. Dee Kerrigan was born Nov. 24, 1922 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Walter B.J. and Rosetta, nee Walsh, Mitchell. On Jan. 31, 1953 in Yonkers, NY, she married her husband, Thomas M. Kerrigan, who preceded her Oct. 21, 1967. Surviving are two daughters, Katherine (Brian) Shannon of Willow Springs, IL and Janet (Bob) Daily of Los Angeles, CA; three sons, Thomas Kerrigan of Michigan City, IN, Lee Kerrigan and John (Deirdre) Kerrigan, both of Chicago, IL; four granddaughters, Emma Daily, Mary Clare Kerrigan, Bridget Kerrigan and Rosetta Kerrigan; two grandsons, Owen Daily and Matthew Shannon; sister, Marie Louise Duffy of Ossining, NY. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Cooper; and brother, Walter B. Mitchell. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Dunes Art Foundation, Lifetime affiliate with the Christopher’s & Covenant House of New York. Volunteer with St. Anthony Memorial. She was a writer and admirer of the theatre, she wrote multiple short stories, having three plays produced locally in Michigan City, IN.
