Betty Kellman, age 101, passed away Tuesday morning June 13, 2006 at 7:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital. A Celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2006 in the chapel at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago. The Elias Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born April 17, 1905 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Morris and Dora Kellman. A lifelong Chicago resident, she worked for the Northern Trust Bank for 25 years, retiring in 1968. She moved from Kenwood in the Lake Retirement Home in Chicago to Liberty Village in Streator two years ago. She is survived by a niece, Donna (Wilton) Stone of Streator, IL; and five nephews, Richard (Donna) Dix of Racine, WI, Rick Polland of Severna, MD, Marc Polland of Birmingham, AL, Donald Kellman and Martin (Merle) Bass, both of Chicago. Also surviving are numerous great-nieces and nephews. In April 2005 she celebrated her 100th birthday with all her nieces and nephews in attendance. At that time, a pictorial video of her life was presented. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Brett Stone Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Streator National Bank or to the American Heart Association.
