Robert L. Fredrickson, age 80, formerly of Chicago and the northwest suburbs, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Boynton Beach, FL. Loving and affectionate husband of his sweet Joan, nee Ginther; brother of Ken “K-Boy” (Ellie), Harry “Babe” (Marge) and Brita Lack. Bob had three children who love him very much, Len (Jennifer), Arne (Marcia) and Mary (Mark Rose). He is also blessed with many beautiful grandchildren, Hunter and Maxwell (children of Len/Jennifer), Jack (children of Arne/Marcia) and Morgan, Kiwi and Grant (children of Mary/Mark). Bob was born to Harry and Vera in 1925. After arriving home from serving in the war, Bob went to work, like his Swedish father before him, as a bricklayer. A few years later, Bob, his brother, Ken and their good friend, Jim Hill started their own, very successful general contracting business. Bob was also a tenor in several Swedish male singing groups throughout his life. After retiring, Bob and his beautiful bride, Joan, began to spend the winters in Florida and ultimately relocated there permanently. Bob enjoyed even a mediocre round of golf, as long as he was with his friends. Many mornings he was seen riding his bike and looking for “lost” golf balls to add to his growing collection. Bob was a generous, fun-loving guy who always enjoyed telling a good joke and making people smile. Bob Fredrickson, lovable, kissable and most of all . . . missed. Memorial Service on Saturday, June 17 from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at Salerno’s Funeral Home, 450 Lake Street, Roselle, IL.
