Focus on corporate liquidity
The Turnaround Management Association is hosting its 2006 Global Educational Symposium, “Liquidity and Corporate Renewal.”
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker Drive.
Keynote speakers include economist Arthur Laffer and marketer Douglas Atkin. Laffer will present “Alternative Perspectives on Liquidity: Insights from Theory and Practice” from 1:15 to 2 p.m. Thursday. Atkin will discuss “Connecting with Customers” during his presentation at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
Laffer, known for inventing the Laffer Curve, is a two-term member of President Ronald Reagan’s economic policy board. He is chairman of Laffer Associates, an economic research and consulting firm, and was involved in Proposition 13, the California initiative that drastically cut property taxes in the state in 1978.
The cost for the two-day symposium is $425 for association members, $525 for non-members, and $250 for academics and judges. Meals, receptions and educational materials are included.
