Madonna wraps up the Chicago stretch on her Confessions Tour on Monday, and despite a rigorous concert schedule, she still has time to work out.
During her stay in the Windy City, the superstar has been using equipment from a local Pilates studio to stay fit. Body Endeavors owner Liv Berger told me about getting together with Madonna’s trainer to provide some equipment for Madge to use at her downtown hotel suite.
Berger also talked about some of Madonna’s other workout secrets:
– Madonna works out for about 3 (yes, 3!) hours a day.
– Her trainer teaches her a combination of Pilates and yoga. Madonna likes a classical style of Pilates. Because she needed shoulder rehab after her horse-riding accident in 2005, she has slowed down on the yoga, although she always expects challenging routines.
– She also runs on the treadmill.
Berger told me that Madonna has been spending some quality time with her children while in Chicago. And speaking of quality, word has it that Madonna’s Chicago finale on Monday is supposed to be special!
Piven’s Entourage
I had time to snap a photo Saturday night with Jeremy Piven at the Piven Theatre Workshop benefit at Rockit Bar & Grill, which was a who’s who of Chicago. The Mix’s Eric and Kathy were there, and so was ABC’s Mark Giangreco–who was outbid on a signed Rolling Stone guitar. And Billy Dec chatted with Kate Walsh from “Grey’s Anatomy” and his ex Jen Schefft.

Dec and David Schwimmer recently dined at SushiSamba Rio. … Michael Richards (you know, Kramer from “Seinfeld”) was spotted at The Peninsula last week. … Nick Lachey flew into town last Monday for a meet-and-greet with winners of a KISS (103.5-FM) contest. Lachey took pictures with fans at Lucky Strike Lanes and bowled with his friends. After the event, Lachey crashed at the Sofitel Chicago O’Hare. … “Dumb and Dumber” star Mike Starr hung out at Melvin B’s Wednesday night. … Piven and “Wedding Crashers” star Rachel Sterling hung out Friday night at Cabaret.
