Mary Augusta Swales, 74, of Evanston, IL, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2006. Mary was born on Sept. 18, 1931 in Chicago, IL, daughter of Paul and Mary Thies. She was a graduate of the National College of Education, and taught Kindergarten in Des Plaines, IL and Waukesha, WI. Her young adulthood was devoted to the raising her four children. She retired after 32 years as a receptionist at Westminster Place of the Presbyterian Homes where she developed incredible friendships over the years. She celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands with her husband, Thomas and entire family. Mary leaves a legacy of kindness and thoughtfulness that will be remembered forever. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Thomas (Susan), Barbara (John), Margret (Thomas) and William (Pamela); and eight wonderful grandchildren, Danielle, Peter, Traci, John, Mark, Melissa, William and Carter.
