Last week, At Play mentioned a few of the area’s many German restaurants. This week, readers offer a few more.

A German restaurant you missed is Chef Paul’s Bavarian Lodge [1800 Ogden Ave.] in Lisle. Give it a try–it’s well worth a visit. And thank goodness that some German restaurants are still around!!!

I am writing in response to your article in Thursday’s At Play section, “Are there any German restaurants left?” Although you did list a handful of great places for German fare, you did omit some of Chicago’s best and oldest German establishments:

Laschet’s Inn, 2119 W. Irving Park Rd., 773-478-7915, which has been a Chicago mainstay since 1971.

Resi’s Bierstube, 2034 W. Irving Park Rd., 773-472-1749, serving great German beer and food since 1973.

Just thought you should know. Prost!
