During one of my many potty-training talks with my son, Yusuf, then 3, I explained how he needed to graduate from training pants to big-boy underwear.
Mom: When you were 1, you wore diapers, right?
Son: Yes.
Mom: When you were 2, you said bye-bye diapers and wore Pull-Ups.
Son: Yes.
Mom: Now that you are 3, you’ll say bye-bye Pull-Ups and wear underwear.
Son: Yes, and when I’m 4, I’ll say bye-bye underwear!
