Douglas R. Smith, 44, passed away June 13, 2006 at Glenbrook Hospital, after a life long struggle with Autism and other complications. He leaves behind his beloved parents, Barbara and William Smith of Northbrook; brother, William Jr. (Deborah) of Wheaton and sister, Holly (Harry) Little of Northbrook; nephews, Matthew and Michael Smith and David Little and a niece, Elizabeth Little. He was fortunate to receive fabulous care and support from the NSSED, NSSRA, The Lambs and for the past 17 years, Glenkirk. A Memorial Service will be held at the Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St., at Glenview Rd., on Wednesday, June 28, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Glenkirk, 3504 Commercial Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062 would be appreciated.
