Talk about a miracle; Foxy Brown has gone from deafness to Def Jam in a few short months.
It was just December when the raptress announced that she suffered total hearing loss from sensorineural damage. But Foxy tells mtv.com this week that the surgery she had three months ago has all but cured her. She’s back working on a long-delayed album and headlining a concert.
“I went straight from the operating room to the studio,” she says. “It was really hard. I was deaf for an entire year. Completely deaf. The surgery was iffy. They didn’t know if it would be a success, and it was.”
Foxy’s on the bill for a July AIDS awareness concert in New York, and is resurrecting her rap career with the help of Def Jam President Jay-Z.
“[Around] Christmas Eve, the album will be out,” she tells MTV.
