The Dave Matthews Band is trying to make a mark on the environment–don’t worry, this time there’ll be no dumping of bathroom waste into the Chicago River.
The band has announced that it will help fund construction of renewable energy generators to compensate for all of the carbon dioxide emissions it’s been responsible for while touring (since 1991).
The musicians aren’t the only ones feeling charitable. Yahoo! Entertainment reports that Nicolas Cage is donating $2 million to Amnesty International to establish a fund to help former child soldiers.
“Think about the nine months it took for your child to be born; think about all the care you took into teaching him how to cross the street and look both ways,” Cage said in a video statement. “Then imagine a warlord dropping a gun into his hand and forcing him to kill someone.”
