Max G. Brittain, 81, of Arlington Heights, beloved husband of Eloise W., nee Wilbur; loving father of Max Jr. (Terri), Lyn-El Mace and the late William Brittain; proud grandfather of Matthew Brittain, Amanda (Michael) Nelson, Amber Mace, Dwight Mace III, and Brent Mace; dear great-grandfather of Erianna Mace; fond brother of the late Frances (Jack) Warren and Naomi (the late Tommy) Lee; devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews and friend of many. Max was a WWII Navy veteran and avid golfer. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S in Construction Engineering in 1954 and he always waited patiently for his breakfast of biscuits with gravy and later, a glass of Merlot at 5 p.m. Visitation Friday, July 7, 2006, from 4 to 9 p.m., at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt Prospect. Funeral Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of the Incarnation, 330 W. Golf Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment private.
